Memorial Day is the time to remember those servicemen and servicewomen who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country (Capt T Derickson, USMC). Memorial Day also marks the unofficial start of summer and on LBI, we are getting ready. The following is a summary obtained from The Sand Paper article of May 20,2020. It is posted in its entirety on our website.
LBI will see an influx of travelers this weekend and even though the number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing, there are some who are in high risk groups that are nervous about the influx of visitors. So make your personal choice about your exposure risk and please show respect for all various choices. The traffic lights are on and the speed limits are reduced. Watch out for bikers and pedestrians; bikers ride with the flow and walkers/runners against the flow.
So what about eating and food. There are still restrictions for restaurants to open for table/waiter service but there is great food to be eaten through takeout and delivery. Our supermarkets are very well stocked and you can expect lines at the entrance along with the restriction of “no shirt, no shoes, no mask, no service”. All the beaches are open.
Township leadership is preparing for Phase 2 in NJ which will allow waiter/table service, short term rentals and church gatherings. The township is making it very easy for restaurant establishments to apply for the appropriate permits/forms for outdoor seating options that will be temporarily in effect until COVID-19 or the season ends. We are hopeful that June 1 is that transition to Phase 2 date. Hot off the press today (Fri 5/22) Gov Murphy has increased the number of people congregating outdoors to 25 and remains 10 for indoor gatherings. Still keep your social distance. Great for church, barbecues and yoga!!
From a real estate perspective, we’re doing all that we can to navigate through this unprecedented event; specifically, all our listings have interactive 3d tours for any consumer to view, we contine to show homes to anyone intrerested in buying, and we keep our finger on the pulse. Check out some spectacular tours at our photography website http://www.villipilot.com/slideshows-and-3d-tours and our You Tube page “Discover LBI from the L&L Team”. Inventory is at historic lows, prices are staying stable, and interest rates remain at historic lows. Finally, the rental market is very robust all over LBI.
We leave you for now. Please be kind to all creatures big and small, please show courtesy to each other, and help each other out. Peace.
